The traces of the everyday
In the project The traces of the everyday the public space in the neighbourhood of Station-Zuid WTC became, for two days, an open-air museum. The exhibition folder was a map of the area with marked points divided in three categories: appropriation, constellations and found objects. Everyday situations became the subject to look at. For the exhibition I invited residents of the neighbourhood and art public. You can find the exhibition text below.27 + 28 June 2015

I would like to invite you to go on a walk with me to explore the traces of the everyday. You will encounter scenes which you normally pass by without noticing them, things like: broken pavement stones, construction work signs, a burned trash bin. The traces of our existence.
During the last three months, I have walked every day. I tried to get lost. I have been looking for the extraordinary, paying attention to the smallest details. On these trips, I discovered ordinary yet surreal things, places and situations. Through the acts of photography, mapping and intervention, I have inscribed new trajectories on the surface of the streets. This inscription was done in multiple ways. First, I have marked out found objects. Second, I have constructed constellations of things. Third, I have identified appropriations of urban spaces.
Please wander around in this area of Amsterdam, and compose your own route, re-assembling the found objects, constellations and appropriations that I have mapped out with your own experiences of the street. Be a child, find the treasures in the traces of the everyday.
