Hein van Duppen is a spatial designer and visual artist with a background in urban planning and interior architecture. He lives and works in Tilburg. In his work he plays with the expectation, perception and imagination of the spectator. How do we relate to the constructed world versus the ‘natural’ world? What is the significance and function of a place in a larger context? Is it possible to activate specific areas by means of projects in public space? Van Duppen deals with these themes in installations, decors and sculptural spaces, in which research into the characteristics and appearance of material plays a central role.
Hein van Duppen graduated in 2016 from the Master of Interior Architecture (MIA) at the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam. He also studied one year at the Inter Architecture at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. In 2013 he received his (BBE) in Urban and Regional Planning at the NHTV in Breda.
